Supporting the Supporters

Rather than support established 'causes', many of which are already well resourced, we support people in real, but often short-term need who are not able to access help from others. We understand that the growing commercialisation of charity in the UK sometimes means that people who really need help are not able to get it'.

We want to make a real difference to the lives of ordinary people who miss out on the help they deserve. We believe one answer lies in working alongside individuals who are already 'in touch' with people's real needs. That's why we're piloting our small grants project with Head Teachers.

Whilst we are not accepting unsolicited applications for funding, we would like to hear from you if you have an idea that fits these aims.

Gift Aid Explained

Can you help us to help British School Children?

Head Teachers sometimes find that a child is missing out on things like sports trips, music lessons, or educational visits because the family can't afford them.

We make small grants available to Head Teachers so that these children no longer miss out. Parents are usually asked to pay a very small sum towards the cost, and your gift means that a child will go on a trip, or have the right sports kit, or get to the football match.

Every grant we make is made completely anonymously, and sometimes not even the parents realise that they are being helped. This is a very practical way of giving. And you will be making a real difference to whether a child benefits from a school trip, or a sports visit, or simply misses out.

Because The Scrivener Trust fund-raises to help this project, every penny that you give towards helping school children in England goes to help the child.
